What is the difference between Liposonix treatments and Thermage treatments at your NYC Medical Weight Loss Clinic? Both treatments are FDA-approved, non-surgical, and noninvasive. However, Liposonix is a body contouring treatment that used high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) used to removal fat from a targeted area such as the stomach (abdomen) and flanks (love handles). Thermage, on the other hand is oftentimes elected by the patient to be used in conjunction with Liposonix for further body contouring / body sculpting and body toning for firmer skin. Thermage is an effective treatment not only for body toning but can be used on the face and neck for nonsurgical wrinkle reduction with long lasting results – results last significantly longer than a cosmetic injectable procedure. What exactly is Thermage? Thermage is the brand name of a FDA approved nonsurgical anti-aging procedure that allows the NYC Doctor to treat aging, loose (lax), wrinkled, and sun-damaged skin. The Thermage procedure uses safe focused laser energy to penetrate the top layer of the skin and create a volumetric and uniform heating effect under the skin. When used on the face, Thermage reduces wrinkles and achieves brow lifting by skin tissue tightening caused by immediate collagen contraction followed by gradual collagen tightening. The result is a more youthful appearance to lax and sagging skin with the added benefit of uniform skin toning. When Thermage is used on the legs the result is skin toning / skin tightening.
What exactly is Liposonix? Liposonix™ is known as liposuction without surgery. Liposonix is a medical device used to get rid of fat cells and to reduce your waist size. Liposonix uses High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to cause the death of fat cells safely and effectively. With Liposonix treatments the NYC doctor reports that the majority of patients lose one inch of fat.
